Question pertaining to anastrozole with trt

Without getting to technical with this, I have a question about anastrozole when used as an AI while on trt.

First, let's see if I'm on the right track...as I understand the way anastrozole works, it inhibits the conversion of testosterone to E2. It doesn't actually lower the E2 levels already present. Is that accurate?

The reason why I ask is because I usually take .25mg anastrozole about 24 hours after my 2w injection of cypionate. And usually I'm fine with that 24 hour interval. But sometimes, and it seems like more frequently lately, I've been noticing high E2 symptoms before I take the anastrozole. Now, if I put 2 and 2 together and realize I'm getting cranky because of the aromatization, then I just take the anastrozole, and within a couple of hours, I start feeling better. The problem comes when I don't realize it's the aromatization that's making me cranky, and I wait til I get really miserable before realizing what it is.

To get to my point, what downside would there be to taking the anastrozole right after my injection? Would there be enough anastrozole in my system 24-36 hours later to counteract aromatization?

I suppose I could just try it myself, but just wondering if anyone knows.

Thanks

so you inject once every two weeks???

Damn good question. That's a red flag right there.

OP: aromatase inhibitors only prevent new estradiol from being converted from testosterone. Your metabolism takes care of the rest as it is excreted through urine once it has served its function. Some products and foods aid with this such as zinc, cruciferous veggies (IC3 specifically), DIM, just to name a few.

If you are injecting every 2 weeks, the problem is that you're on a hormone roller-coaster, which will make any man irritable.

My .02c :)

2w=twice a week. Every 3.5 days.

That's what I get for abbreviating. Sorry.

I'd get a blood test before making any changes. Anastrozole is very fast acting and has a good long half-life, so unless you're simply not taking enough, I don't think your timing is to blame.

I know it's easy to suspect the hormones are responsible, but without a test to be sure, it's all just guesswork.

Thanks.

For the year plus that I've been on this protocol, every blood test has shown pretty consistent numbers. All I'm changing is the timing of the anastrozole in regards to my injection. No doses are changing. I just want to know if I take the anastrozole same day as my injection, if enough anastrozole will still be in my system 24-48 hours later.

I know it's the hormones because the symptoms go away shortly after taking the anastrozole. Like I said, most days I'm fine taking the anastrozole 24 hours post injection. And most times I have no e2 symptoms. Just occasionally I have high e2 symptoms.

I take my AI on the same day I pin and have tried other timing protocols as well. I'm not super sensitive to estradiol either, but on the same day has been working for the last three years or so.

Never hurts to play around with timing, but yes - there's enough drug in your system to prevent aromatization unless there simply isn't enough AI being used, which doesn't seem to be the case.

When I use Anastrozole, I take it on the same day I inject too. It has always worked well for me too. Part of the appeal is that it makes it easier to remember to take it. Forgetting to take it can be bad.

Thanks guys. That was exactly the confirmation I was looking for.
