Quick information regarding Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) handling and usage

I wanted to shed some light on hCG for some folks who may not be aware. There is too much information about potency, refrigeration, etc.. that can be confusing. Hopefully this post will ease your mind a bit, and will be a thread I can link to instead of going into detail each time.

hCG does not go "bad". It will always be an active compound and it will always do what it's supposed to do, which is mimic LH analog. The confusion stems from the expiration date on your compounds. The expiration date is generally 28 days or so. This only means that the compound's potency was tested for that long. It does not mean it is useless after this date.

hCG can be used for 90 to 120 days with little to no degradation in potency. After this period, hCG will lose approximately 10% potency per month. If you still have some more hCG left over, you would simply compensate for the potency loss. For example, if your protocol requires 250 IU, you would add 10% to your injections, for a total of 275 IU.

Storing hCG is also confusing for many. The purpose of storing hCG in the refrigerator is to preserve the potency. Do not be alarmed by taking hCG out of the refrigerator. It can be taken out for about 12 days or so with no potency loss. So if you're travelling, feel confident in taking it with you. You do not need ice packs or any other measures unless your compound will be away from the cold for over 2 weeks.

In powder form, hCG will last approximately 2 to 3 years at room temperature. You can freeze it in powder form indefinitely. However, once it's mixed, I do not recommend that you freeze the mixed compound. If you have a habit of freezing pre-loaded syringes, I would be absolutely sure that nothing interrupts your injection, where you'd have to re-freeze it. A single freeze should be fine, but generally, the ice crystals can damage the proteins in hCG and likely render it ineffective.

hCG is not as fragile in mixed form as most might think. If you decided to combine it with your steroid injections, it will be just fine. Gentle handling is recommended, but you do not need to be walking on eggshells. Relax, it's entirely rare to damage hCG. Remember that HUCOG brand is shipped to you already mixed. It's not impacted during shipping.

Have a powerful day.

Awesome post, I wish I had noticed this, or searched before I asked a few of these questions just a few minutes ago in a different thread.

So based on this info it would be okay to mix the hcg and -not- refrigerate it provided that I used whatever I mixed within 12 days?

Very informative. hCG (should I capitalize the h if it's the start of a new sentence?) is going to be on my endocrinology final in a few weeks.

hCG is how it should be abbreviated at all times. Someone edited my title, which is now improper, but I can fix it.

Yes.

Austinite,

I've been using FROZEN pre loaded syringes for HCG this month. I take them out of freezer and thaw them out for 10 minutes or so and use them. Does Freezing HCG in pre loaded syringes for single use make it less effective ?
