Can someone create a fake iphone message date stamped and in their inbox?

Like create a message that comes from a real number in there phone book and have it show up on there iphone with a specific date stamped?

I dont want to know how to do it just wondering if its possible.

There is some kind of "app". My girl sent me a text saying some bulllshit about hey hottie this is so and so what's up. Trying to catch me slipping. U can send a message from a fake number using this program. I knew better. Plus I don't fuck around so I wasn't worried
