Raw Eggs

yes, i use raw egg occasionally.
i have even done 12 raw whole eggs ed for 7 days...thats 84 raw whole eggs in 7 days.

just be sure to either
A: eat the whole raw egg
B: use pasturized egg whites

raw egg whites by them selves are shit for absortion, down near the 50% compared to the normally 90+ BV they typically carry when eithe rcooked or eaten woth the yolk.
 
that's a lot of friggin eggs.

what would be the benefit of eating them raw? is it for convenience, or is it kind of like raw vegetables - they retain more of their chemical makeup when raw?

Convenience. id rather spend a couple minutes cooking them though as Adida said raw eggs only have about 50% bioavailability compared to 90% cooked.
 
the 12 eggs ED for 7 days was just an experiment.
i passed...LOL

the BV of 50 for a raw egg is ONLY FOR THE WHITE. the yolk is still good to go BV wise raw.

and yes i typically down raw eggs for convenience.
other wise cooked eggs are just as good and your not loosing any nutritional value by cooking them.

Pasteurized isn't cooked, so I'm not sure if the BV is significantly better than any other raw egg whites.
 
I used to drink raw eggs. Convenience was the name of the game. But I find they fill me up better when cooked. Probably all in the head but when you're dieting it doesn't matter. Anything to curb the hunger.

what it does is destroy the amino acid avilid, or how ever in the hell you spell it.
which is the amino acid which makes digesting raw egg whites so shitty.
 
Years ago I used to put a lot of them into shakes for convenience. They gave me the worst gas imaginable.

As I understand it there is about a 1 in 20,000 chance of getting salmonella from a raw egg. A long shot for sure but the odds could catch you. I have had salmonella (not from eggs) and it was horrible.
 
Raw eggs have the consistency of snot. I don't know how any of you can drink raw eggs.

I tried once and as soon as the eggs hit my mouth, my gag reflex kicked in and the eggs went down the drain.

You can cook a dozen eggs in less than five minutes :D
 
I like pasturized egg whites first thing in the morning. I hate protein shakes because I honestly think the taste like ass and I can't stomach a lot of food in the morning cause my appetite is low. The eggs due the job.
 
i like to start my day off with 8 cooked eggs, 2 with yoke (for flavor) the rest without, and a shake. if it doesnt affect the nutrition, hell cook em'
 
Same here I just wisk em up n throw em in tha micro oven for a few mins stick it between 2 slices of wholemeal, quick and easy.
 
i had raw eggs years ago when traning with a friend big time, 3 time a week 4 to 6 eggs 3 times a week with a good proteanshake, put punds on me and im only 5/6inch , training 3 times a week man was big then, lol wish i was now.......

BUT ILL BE BACK , NUFF SIAD

I do both.... my very first meal of the day is a breakfast/protein shake with whey, BCAA powder, fruit, oats (when not cutting), and Yes RAW EGGS.. strictly for convience! Usually 3 eggs whites and one yolk. However later for my second mid-am meal I have 2-3 eggs cooked, for the simple reason that I have more time to cook/boil/peel etc..
Now at one point I did get sooo much crap for eating raw eggs that I put 3 boiled/cooked egg whites in my shake one day and almost LOST IT!...lol.. seriously, tasted like CRAP!
