Really high testosterone on TRT

I am definitely learning. I have since split the shots to every 5 days, instead of bi-weekly. My main issue now is getting my estrogen down. I think this protocol should help. The waiting part to do labs sucks. Would rather do without adex and blood donations. But who wouldn't want to be in the 1100 range.

Very disappointing that doctors don't have a better idea of how to manage this. I am almost ready to quit trt altogether. This up and down shit sucks.

I definately understand. I know the idea of more frequent shots is not enticing at all...I resisted it as well. I don't know how the 5 day shots will treat you, but I know it will be better than every 2 weeks BY FAR! I strongly recommend lower dose shots every 3.5 days...it works. But, go ahead and try the 5 days and do the labs, see where you end up. It might be ok for you.

Look at my thread for an example of going to 3.5 day shots. No AI needed either.

Best of luck to you man!

Oh, by the way...HCT is all I need to adjust now, and if I could donate blood I would...it's a fantastic thing to do for other people as well. It truly saves lives.

I don't have an issue with pinning more frequently. I just recently got over that fear.

I didn't mean to come off as insensitive as far as blood donations go. I rather not have to do it as a result of trt. No issues donating otherwise. I want to make this process as simple as possible, is all.

Will read the link. Thanks again

I thought that's what you meant. But I used to work in a blood bank, and the need is real. Just wanted to reiterate that. (:

I do not want to start another thread, just for sake of continuity. I think its easier to follow the saga in one thread.

I saw my doctor today. I let him know that I had switched to shots every five days. He adamantly told me to stop doing that and to switch to 175 mg every 12 days now. He explained that since I didn't have symptoms I was crashing at bi-weekly shots that it wasn't necessary to do it every five days.

He also said to do 0.5mg adex every three days. He wants to get blood work after two complete shots, on a day prior to the next dose. Which would be 36 days from yesterday's date.

He confirmed I am secondary and we talked about a re-start. As far as the restart he doesn't recommend we attempt that until he has me dialed in, which he explained can take 6-9 months to do.

Next set of labs will include my cholesterol and hematocrit. I plan to report back at that time.

Shut you down even further by putting you on TRT and then take you off it to try a restart? Is he retarded? Where did you find this guy? And why should he care if you inject more frequenlynto even out your levels? Wow!!! You need a new doc ASAP.

I hear what your saying and didn't think about that consequence until later, probably because I am enjoying my new found gains as a result of the treatment. More than that I like what it has done for my mood. Before TRT I felt somewhat depressed, never been clinically diagnosed. I believe it was my lower test level that had me down in the dumps and grumpy all the time. Now I am actually happy and optimistic.

Some of his reasoning was that he wants me to lean out some, losing about twenty pounds, then build muscle on that and adopt an exercise program and certain eating habits in order to maintain my gains and stimulate natural test.
To be honest I already exercise and eat in the manner he would want me to. At best my test was 475 and I felt like garbage. Unless a restart gets me into the 600's, I am going to have to do trt. I have struggled with test levels ranging from the mid 300's to the mid 400's for the last ten years. I don't know if restart combined with fat loss would do much.
About two years ago I shed 60-70 pounds and got down to 8 percent body fat and still couldn't pack on the muscle like I used to.

The input I have received here has served to educate me and give me more pointed questions to ask of the doctor.

To be completely honest, I think I would rather be 900-1000 on trt than 500-600 with a restart. I am conflicted and at times think it may be better to go with the latter.

Any thoughts on that?

OK here we go again. First forget about your total testosterone. You need your "free testosterone" numbers. Next when posted your estrogen numbers, was that total estrogen or estradiol? Total estrogen = E1,E2, and E3. Get your E2 number. Too many members here and other forums get too hung up with their total testosterone, but it's the "free" that matters. Good luck..

You don't think there is a correlation between Total Testosterone and Free Testosterone? I would argue that they are both important. As well as Bio-Available Testosterone.

I think Free T is the most important as well as E2. TT is just TT...your body can't use it if it's bound to a protein. Plain and simple. But, that doesn't make TT not important to know either.

uh.. you can have normal tt numbers, but low free. If this is the case you will not be diagnosed with "low T", but guess what you will have signs of low testosterone. And yes, if your total is already low your free will be low also.

Bingo..
