Recently started TRT on Testogel - sore nipples

I've been on testogel 1 x 5g sachets for about 10 days. I feel pretty good in the morning, but have crashed somewhat by the evening. On a couple of days, I tried using a second sachet in the afternoon, but it actually ended up making me feel worse.

For the last 2-3 days, my nipples have become sore. I ignored it at first, but it's getting worse. They don't appear to be swollen, but are quite often hard. From what I've read, this can either just be my body adjusting to the new hormonal levels, or an early symptom of gyno.

My urologist did not mention AIs to me, and I wasn't prescribed any. I understand symtoms of gyno are uncommon on such low doses of test as I'm on, but not impossible if you are particularly sensitive to estrogen. As detailed in my other thread, I was planning to continue on the testogel until I could go on to my own treatment regime of test cyp, HCG, and arimidex(anastrazole) in about a week.

Should I discontinue the testogel until I can get some AIs? The last thing I want is any kind of lumps developing. I know I'll return to my pre-TRT state and mood, but I'd rather just go through that until I can start on a proper regime, than risk gyno, which I'd then have to potentially treat with nolvadex (or letrozole if it's gone too far) from what I'm reading.

Thanks any for advice

The permanent lumps do not form that quickly. I also am very sensitive to Estrogen and aromitization as well. But since you said you are getting Aromatase inhibitor (AI) in a week you should be fine.

Get a blood test done and see what your estradiol is at. Then you don't have to guess. Read the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) stickies to learn how to get your own labs done cheap using Private MD - Buy Lab Tests Online. The panel most guys get will cost you about $50.

If your estradiol is high ask your doc yo prescribe you an AI.

Also -- get off the gel. It is notorious for high aromatisation into eastrogen. Switch to injections and you will be much happier. Injections are cheaper too and no risk of transfer to kids or women around you.

Since things for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) aren't real easy in the UK, possibly you could get some aromasin from here if you wanted to:

rui-products.com/ancillaries/aromatase-inhibitors/exemestane-30ml-25mg-ml.html

safemeds4all.com/product-details/aromasin-25mg-tablets-generic-equivalent/397.html

Thanks for the swift replies guys.

Unfortunately, it's not quite as cheap to get the bloodwork done in the UK, there are private labs I can go to here in London, but they're pretty expensive. Nonetheless, I'll go and get it checked first thing on Monday.

I don't really want to go back to how I felt before I got even the low amount of T boost from the gel whilst I wait for the test cyp to arrive (but I will do if I need to)... So since I'm getting Aromatase inhibitor (AI) in about a week, there's no real risk of anything permanent developing in that time, and I should just be ok to continue with the testogel for a few more days?

Cheers

a few more days shouldn't hurt. keep on gellin'

So I've been doing some further reading, and came across this article, which would seem to suggest that the finasteride I am taking to prevent hair loss is causing the early gyno symptoms by blocking 5AR, even at the low doses of T provided by the gels.

Has anyone else heard of this phenomenon? The article speaks authoritatively, although in my limited knowledge I have no real way to evaluate the veracity of its claims. I'm going to drop my finasteride as of tomorrow anyway to see if the sore nipple issues clear up.

I'm going for bloodwork on Monday - I'm getting total T (to see how I have responded to the gels) and E2 run. Is it worth getting total estrogens checked too? And anything else whilst I'm there? Might as well make a shopping list if I need one!

Cheers
