Reps

I was just wondering what most of you think on going heavy with lifts like dumbell flys. My bench reps are starting to get into the 4 -6 range and I was curious as to if I should drop my fly reps that low?

I don't think there is much point. With exercises like flys, that's how much more weight? Maybe 20-30 lbs for normal guys? It's not like major compounds where a different rep range can mean a massive difference in how much weight you are using.

I would say if your heavy compound exercises are in the low rep range, 4-6, I'd stay w/ the isolation exercises such as your flyes, stay in the 9-10 range. That way you're doing heavier lifts for fewer reps and a lighter weight for more reps. Kinda like you're attacking the muscle w/ 2 different techniques.
