Sure as shit different getting used to though.
sound like your grip is just like mine with your pointer finger middle knucle sort of pointing down the bar towards the plate and the bar rest in the groove from the middle of the palm at the bottom to the base of the pointer finger .In-Human said:I am a bit different here, I go with the bar across my palm, and I only hold on with my thumb and first two fingers, I also space my hands 4" wider than shoulders, elbow are not close to my body and not flared out, sort of in the middle...

absolutely correct about the spotter/liftoff . dont be stubborn people ,pride will get you hurt .sugarplum said:lol... bench day.
i posted about reversegrip benches on another forum few weeks ago.they kick ass. just make sure you have a spotter for the lift off like someone said- you pass that weight over your face with pretty much only your thumbs holding it.
try holding the bar in your hands like inhuman and i describe abovekoops2121 said:I went a bit heavier on these last workout and it hurt my wrists quite a bit.
Any tips on ways to fix that?
i highly reccomend getting the hang of doing the flat 1st and maube then try experimenting with the decline , i dont do declines but i have done incline RG bench and its one mother of a front delt excercise lolrjx said:Was going to create a new thread but first searched and found this one!
I was at the gym today and asked for a spot on the close grip bench. My spotter told me I should try reverse grip presses. I had never heard of these and asked him about them. He said I should be able to handle the same weight that I use for close grip. He said I would need to have a slightly wider than shoulder width grip.
Then this other guy overheard our conversation and mentioned that doing this on a decline bench would hit the tris better and helps with strength. He preferred them over the flat bench version.
Just wondering if anyone has tried doing this on a decline bench? Thoughts? I'll try both for myself, but I need to wait till next Saturday's tri workout.
