can u hurt yur r-cuff by doing dumbell rows or low cable rows?? i think i just hurt mine.. hurts like a mother****er!!!!!!

Don't quote me on this, i'm definitly not a Doc but i'm guessing you probably can't hurt your cuff by doing rows. chances are you pulled one of the muscles in the back half of you shoulder. i have done this before and thought the same thing, saw the dr and everything. just ended up being a bad strain.

You could do damage to it, but as stated, it is unlikely that you did. It is not a movement that puts you in a position where it is probable. Where is the pain and what type of range of motion do you have now?

a big way to hurt your rotator cuff is to do lat pulldowns behind the head instead of in front of the body. It is not GOING to happen just because you do them behind the head, but its likely. I havent heard of anyone hurting theirs doing the movements you mentioned.

It might be that you hurt your rotator cuff when doing the dumbell rows. It is possible to hurt the arm which was on the bench and not the arm doing the movement.

Alternatively, you may have gone through too quick a movement with the weight and did an injury that way.

See a doctor.

I've just had a shoulder reconstruction. It hurts a bit.

answer to question: yes, it is very possible if you performed said exercises with bad (wild) form over a long period of time (more than a dozen times) with excessive weight. very possible. i've had problems with both rot cuffs, but through proper exercising have managed to get back to about 99% in each. take it easy on the weights; focus on your muscles, not the movement.

I aggravated my rotator cuff jackin it last night. I just couldn't get off. I think it's time to switch hands.

Rows can hurt my RC but there was a preexisting condition there. I doubt that rows alone would cause the problem though.

Also doing cable rows seems to bug mine more. Im guessing just the mechanics of the cable setup.
