Shoulder Injury and Maintaining Size

Shoulder Injury and diet to Maintain Size

Went to the doctor a few times and came to the conclusion that I tore a muscle in my rear delt and strained my trap. No surgery required but it hurts to the point where my training is being restricted. It has been about a month and a half since I injured myself and I am still in a good deal of pain. I am working out a few times a week. Usually two days of cardio and abs, a hard day of legs and arms a couple times a week. No Chest and No back work. I would like to stay as lean as possible and maintain as much muscle as I can. This happend at the end of my cycle but I am bridging on 250mg of test every 5th day.

Now my question is what should my diet and training schedule look like in order to maintain my muscle and stay lean.

Here are the things I can do in the gym.

Leg Press
Leg Extensions
Leg Curls
Calves
Preacher Bis
Tri Extensions (Skull Crushers)
Forearms
Abs
Cardio

Any help you guys can give is appreciated
Thanks

You might have better luck if a mod moves this to the diet forum.

I could think a high protein, moderate COMPLEX carb, low fat diet if the way to go to maintain muscle but stay learn. On the other hand, I don't have 265lbs of mass to maintain like yourself.

You will lose some size in the muscles your not using, it is going to happen, but its better than injuring them worse. Just work out the muscles you can, and try to prevent them from shrinking too, If your worried about getting fat try to keep the calories maintenance or somewhat above, if your not worried try going bit higher to see if you recover faster. I ruptured my bicep a few months ago toward the end of my cutting cycle, could'nt lift my arm at first to wash my hair. I ended up dropping 20lbs even though I was eating good, the combination of ptc and not being able to do any upper body workouts did me in.

When I had 2 of my rotator muscles reattached. I was not able to do any lifting with that arm for 3 months. But I could still do back and chest as best I could with my good arm and shoulder. Lost virtually no size. Using the god shoulder causes around 20%( I believe) of the nerve impulses to fire off in the unused side thus giving it some stimulation. I did have the ok to do this from my dr. he was a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon.
