What a great movie. For those who haven't seen it-- definitely check it out. Another masterpiece for Scorcese.

One of those great movies that unravels and lots of things begin to make sense and then catches you off guard with a final spin-off at the end. It's so much more enjoyable to see a movie that makes you think after you leave the theater and that you don't care about dropping $11 to see.

Shutter Island is great, another masterpiece for DiCaprio, I think he is the best actor right now. Great performance that should get him a lot of nominations.
 
^^^ agreed. The guy only takes incredible roles & kills it everytime.

Plus his assortment of girlfriends through the years should win him another award

id have to disagree, im disappointed bc it was scorcesse film. this is light years behind the departed.


go see it if you're bored, def. worth the money to see, it, would i see it twice? no, would i buy it for dvd? no, does it compare to his other movies? not even close

Titles need to be edited by mods. I'm not that cool. For the sake of everyone else it'd be easier if you just edited your response a little to say you expected the outcome or you knew what was happening... Just common courtesy.

As for your response you're obviously perceptive, I can't say I knew for sure what was happening and I'm a movie buff, it dawned on me towards the middle-end but I still enjoyed it. Departed was incredible obviously, I just really appreciate the camera angles, the dream scenes, the music, lighting....details...in addition to the plot & actors. To me these things make an ok movie something special
 
^^ fixed massive. the other board i go to we cant edit posts after a certain time so i didnt even think about it here, but i fixed it so that there is no spoiler.
 
god damn it, i knew it was going to be fantastic. i was going to go see it last night but went to some trash bar instead. i am super interested in the story because I had to complete an internship at an institution that is very similar to the one in the movie...from what i could tell from the preview. thanks for the confirmation massive

see I didnt like the departed at all well it was ok but didnt like the casting of Nicholas...and the Boston accent was just murded by the hole cast and Walberg is from dorchester and Damon is from Cambridge.

Def going to see Shutter Island next Friday
