Side affects from TRT, thinking of going off to confirm, thoughts?

Side effects from TRT, thinking of going off to confirm, thoughts?

So I have been on TRT since June of last year. Roughly a month or two after starting I started to experience high anxiety and would wake up at night a lot and sometimes with panic attacks. In the past I would experience the same thing but that was related to cycles I did from time to time when I was younger. As soon as I ended the cycle the symptoms would go away. My doctor said it was unlikely at TRT levels that would cause those issues but they came a month or two after starting and remind me of the exact issues I had in the past during cycles.

My question is do you think TRT is causing this? Also, look at my initial labs and tell me your opinion of whether I should have even started it.

And this is my latest lab as of last week:

Anxiety comes from your e levels being too high, my guess is you didn't run or didn't run enough ai while on cycle.

Looks like your e levels need to come down (that estradiol test was a sensitive array I think). Talk to your doc about adding an ai like Adex to your protocol.

As to whether you should've started TRT: your numbers were high enough that most docs wouldn't have put you on TRT, but if symptoms were present and affecting your life than you made a good choice by going on.

Do you have Sleep Apnea? Are you on a CPAP Machine? Waking up with Panic Attacks could also be Obstructive Sleep Apnea. That said, I just was inserted Pellets right from the get-go which I am now very unhappy about and I had a few days of serious anxiety.

Doctor wrote me a script for 0.25mg Xanax. It takes a 1/2 hour to kick in and then it works for 3 hours.

I have met two doctors that are supposedly highly experienced in TRT and claim that TRT itself does not promote anxiety. Even high estrogen production, they both asserted, doesn't produce anxiety. Data on this Board I don't believe support their position, however.

Never had an apnea test but never has any issues sleeping until a month or two after starting TRT. Its very coincidental the only times I have had anxiety like this was only when I used exogenous testosterone.

Just watch your estradiol. It is usually that. Going back to being hypogonadal seems like a bad idea.

It's now at roughly 39.6. Prior to TRT it was 12.7. Do you think it's possible I prefer it on the lower part of the scale?

As for my "before TRT" total test number, I was anywhere from 377 to the 410 you see here. and "free test" was at 8.8 on the 410 day. My doctor was more concerned with the low free number than the total. Do you agree with that?

I appreciate the feedback.

If you had the ECLIA estradiol Assay remember to subtract 10-20 points from your 39.6pg/ml. You could try going lower with your E2 but I would make sure you have the lc/ms/ms assay before making that type of decision. And check peak and trough estradiol levels.

You are considered Borderline Hypogonadal so referencing Free Testosterone was appropriately indicated.

I don't think I can add much more to the stellar advice given other than to say that I've yet to meet or hear of a guy that stopped TRT, and was happy with the results.

I truly also believe that this is an estradiol tuning issue, and that going backwards will only set you back, instead of making forward progress.

My .02c :)
