rack deads are NOT the same as smith machine deads
it depends on what you mean by "hamper" im not saying you cant grow from a smith im saying that free wieghts will cause MORE/QUICker growth-so in a way yes it will hamper your gains but im not saying you will make 'zero' gains from a smith

dont know what you mean by ditching the bar ive had plenty of weight on my back ive even been squashed and never seem to drop the bar (i can count on 1 hand the amounts of time ive dropped te bar on the pins)
