Hi, if this is in the wrong forum please let me know.

Anyway, could someone please tell me how much the smith machine bar weighs? Are they all the same or are they different?

It should say on a label somewhere. I've seen some that are 15lbs. and some that are 25lbs.

The one at my gym has around 30# of assistence but it doesn't seem to list it. I use an angled smith BTW, for incline pressing and upright rows.

lets say the bar weighs 25lbs...the resistance from the guides actually doesnt make it feel like 25 more like 10 if you ask me...when i use it i dont count the weight of the bar.

Me neither. I've used ones where the balance is very good so the bar almost hovers, waiting to be moved, and others where if you unlatch it, it plummets to the floor cuz it weighs so much. I'm almost positive the Cybex 7% angled Smith offers 20lbs of resistance, fwiw.

The smith at my old gym (only one I've ever liked) had no counterbalance, just a guide for the bar, and it was the full 45.
