So I met Mr. Olympia on Saturday

It was a 3.5hr wait...>90mins in -15C on the pavement (albeit with some sun shining)...probably wouldn't have waited if I knew what I was getting myself into...

Honestly the wait was pretty disheartening and I was so hungry by the time we got to the front of the line, it was almost anti-climatic despite him being a pretty cool guy and it being a neat experience

Anyways, pics or it didn't happen right?

Sweet Picture. Back in the 80's when I was competing I had a chance to train a few months next to Lee Haney in Atlanta at Doc's Gym.

I was in the dumbbell room training shoulder's, fly, and lookin good getting ready for the Daytona classis 86' so I thought :( . Lee comes into the room and pics up 125lb dumbels and starts doing the same.... hello mike WTF are you doing..... had to laugh as I left the room :(

SP, you DEFINITELY out-bearded him! Is Phil as arrogant in person as he seems to be? I have nothing but respect for his accomplishments, but sometimes he comes off as a dbag.

I wasn't a huge fan but not knowing him personally I didn't have a problem with him either.

Having met and talked to him, though, I have to say he seems like a pretty solid/good guy - he's sharp, and honestly listens...looks you in the eye when he speaks with you.

Awesome. I kinda wonder if the whole Heath/Green thing was to bring more attention to the sport, or if things really are that way. I feel eye contact is the greatest sign of respect, so perhaps he is a champion in more ways than one. Always awesome to get to meet the greats!

Mike, Lee Haney was actually the guy (among a few others) that really got me interested in the sport. I'm jealous that you've met him in person. I take it those are your pics from back in the day? Looking amazing!
