Starting TRT next week......

So as stated my doctor is having me start TRT next week and of course I'm nervous about the whole situation and have some questions. I know he isn't the most knowledgeable about trt and that has worried. The guy wrote me a script for test but no AI and no HCG. So I went back today and he agreed to put me on both.

So... I'll be started at 150mg a week split in two doses. 1mg arimidex a week split in two doses. And 500 iu HCG a week split in two doses. HCG shots the day before the test shots and AI taken right after test shot. Does that sound okay?

As of last week my test level was 268. 3 months ago it was 337. What can I expect from 150mg of test a week?

Im 208 pounds currently. Was 260 6 months ago. Eat a clean 2500 calories a day. Muscle grains have been slow as hell. Will test help my "noob" gains even while on a caloric deficit? Will it help me lose weight quicker? I swear losing weight right now feels so slow considering I eat super clean and workout 5 days a week.

I've been thinning on top of my head and think its related to low T. Is that possible? If so can getting on trt help?

Should I feel like me being trt should be a secret and I shouldn't tell anyone?

Libido is pretty much non existent. Im sure trt will help that?

Idk.. Im just nervous to think ill be on this for life... Im only 25 and its upsetting this is my only option of feeling manly again. Low t sucks so much but Im thrilled of having to pin 2x a week for life... Realistically what do i have to expect or to look forward to? Thanks in advance guys!

Welcome to the life recovery club. Things should get better from here.

At 150/wk you may not need an ai. If you do I doubt you'll need 1mg/wk. many guys make it a goal to find a test dose that's acceptable but low enough that they don't need an additional med. you could either hold off and see where e levels are after 5-6 weeks or start with .25mg/2wk. Do you have a baseline for estrogen pre-test?

Me and many others take hcg on the same day as the test. Just makes it so your not injecting 4 days a week. I just take everything together on injection days.

You have relatively high levels to be starting TRT, especially at 25. Ran cycles previously? Have you considered other options? How'd it come about that the doc decided to put you on TRT?

You'll lose fat much more easily with better test levels, but you're complaining about how difficult it is to lose weight and you've lost 52lbs in 6 months? Geez.

Your hair won't regrow. If anything it may fall out faster.

Is TRT a secret? Do you want it to be? It's not for me and that helps keep questions at bay when on a blast.

Libido will improve. I had zero libido before injections.

Good luck.

Guess your right about the weight issue. I have come a long ways since I started working out. Its just my gym partner eats like crap a lot and skips the gym all the time and still has results similar to mine. I told tell him but it frustrates me at times lol.

A test level of 268 is a bit high for for wanting to start try? I was under the impression its three times lower then what I want it to be.

And I just feel like telling people I inject test will get people thinking the wrong thing because they don't know any better.

What levels can I expect from 150 mg/week? That dose puts me at roughly 1100-1200 ng/dL just before next injection. Most people get lower test levels at that dose. I think it depends partly on weight and age. I weigh only about 147. Older people metabolize most substances more slowly. I am 73.

I doubt TRT will reduce hair thinning. More likely the opposite.

I usually don't tell people I am on TRT. Too many misconceptions out there. Let them think I got a lean muscular body naturally.

My libido (interest) was good before TRT and continues about the same or perhaps a little better. Erectile function is a different matter. I have to rely on my pharmacist. No change from TRT.

I don't like injections, but for me they are worth it. I use a small 29 gauge half inch insulin needle in my thigh. It's probably shallow IM, but might be SQ. Anyway it works and is usually not too uncomfortable.

yea, 150mg a week you MIGHT need .25mg twice a week if youre sensitive to conversion... but chances are you wont..

i run 160mg a week split into two injections and at .25mg twice a week my through readings come back at 25

Well said by GaijinJapan "Welcome to the life recovery club". New to posting, not to TRT or this forum. I just posted my 6 month experience if you're interested in checking it out steroidology.com/forum/testosterone-replacement-therapy/686762-trt-6-months-review-imt-my-story.html might give you some perspective on my experience.

Sounds like you've done your homework and good call on the HCG, I personally split 200mg into 2 shots a week and don't need an AI they say it's better to not use it unless unless you need it...everyone is different.

My body comp is better on TRT than before and it's easier to both bulk and cut...it shortens the time I was used to to add muscle or burn fat.

I can 100% vouch for libido return, that was my primary driver to get my T levels checked and start TRT...no regrets.

It took me a while to accept that I needed "man juice" for life, once I got it out of my head and accepted that people take medicine for various issues everyday, it helped put things in perspective. I don't really mind the shots and I'm 6mos in...sometimes when i'm busy or traveling it's an added task in an already busy day but frankly it's worth it. Like night and day worth it to me at least. After some time on trt my whole outlook and demeanor changed, I have more energy, better workouts, and an infinitely better love life.

To answer your question about telling people, I choose not to bring it up. My fiance is in the loop as we don't keep secrets and she's had my back the whole way. I also have a buddy that's always been on and off the juice and i talked to him about it, funny that I know more than he does about what he's been doing to himself for years. I was nervous and anxious at first too but after a while I hope you have the same experience as myself and lot's of dudes on this forum - life changing and for the better. Good luck!
