sterile abscess? Seeing dermatologist tomorrow

So, it has been a week since my right glute injection. The skin color has returned to almost normal, there's no heat coming off the skin, there's some pain if I push hard enough but walking and what not is not a problem. HOWEVER, there's a big lump in there. It's like a tiny sausage sized/shape lump that isn't visible but if you touch it, you can feel it. It's in the fat, not the muscle.

Is this possibly a sterile abscess? The reason I mention sterile abscess is from the post recent post on injections in inflamed muscles. I was put on antibiotics just in case and I'm going into the doctors tomorrow morning. He'll decide what to do, but everything in Japan is pretty old-school and I have to be somewhat aggressive in my treatment. Should he remove whatever it is inside via syringe? Or is there something else that needs to be done?

He may end up sending me to the hospital if he's not equipped to handle things in his clinic.

Also, first quad injection was a success.

it will most likely go away, just stay away from it til it starts getting better. If it gets progressively worse you may have to have it popped

It will probably get better on it's own. 99.9% of the time when people think they have an abscess or sterile abscess it is not! It could have been that some of the oil from your injection was put in the subcutaneous fat instead which would make sense why you have a little lump there. It may last a week or so, should be fine though as long as it is getting better!

Saw the dermatologist. He says there's no infection, the color is normal and there's no heat coming off it. He says that he doesn't believe it's a sterile abscess but rather granulation tissue that'll take 1 month to 2 months to heal. I asked about anything I could do to help speed the process, he said nothing. However I've read placing a hot compress sometimes helps. Is there anything I can do to help with recovery.

He did ask that I keep an eye on it and gave me some more antibiotics just in case. If it gets red, tender or anything all of a sudden to start on the antibiotics right away and go back, but he says it's highly unlikely to turn to anything.
