i hardly stretch before or after working out and i'm wondering if stretching would help at all...
does stretching really give any noticable results and if so could you guys give some examples of stretches?
thanks

there is actually some evidence that stretching too much before lifting is detrimental. However, you do either need to stretch or do some form of warmup work to get the blood flowing into the muscles so you don't injure yourself using cold muscles. Also, stretching after exercise will increase your flexibilty and help to decrease soreness.

I find that when I strech after workouts I get much less sore the next day than if I had skipped the streching.

When I do Nelson's 4 min. calve routine (brutal but amazing workout!) I immediately strech afterwards. The streching is very painful but greatly reduces the recovery time (which can be 3-4 days for this workout!). I've found that streching the following morning helps too.

Stretching seems to help reduce soreness sometimes. More important i think is a good warmup before a workout, definitely makes a difference in avoiding injuries..

I dont stretch at all. I warmup slow with my first exercise. The key for me has always been a quick acclimation set before hittin the big weight. If your getting a full rom during your set you're stretching plenty. Thats just my opinion though bro, im sure streching is benefical for some...ill just leave it to the weekend warriors who do 10 minutes of rotor cuff warmup before benching 135lbs.
