I got a cousin who is a little overweight and she seldom works out. We both know she should work out more, but I'm also thinking that she might have a low thyroid count. Do you think that she would benefit from taking t3?

SukaDaddio is right. You can't possibly diagnose a thyroid problem without proper bloodwork. If you suspect a problem, then seeing a physician and getting the proper bloodwork is a very good idea. Many physicians will simply run a blood test for TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) but I strongly suggest that she also request free T3 and free T4.
Even if she doesn't have a thyroid issue, it isn't really appropriate to start up on T3 until she has been eating a proper diet and doing cardio for a while. Even then, something like ephedrine is good to add in before T3.
