Test too high?

Is it possible to have too high of a test value that you don't make any gains? A buddy has been taking test with no or minimal gains. Thought the gear was bunk cause I was on same stuff. I stopped because i seen NO gains and he continued on. He goes to the Doc and finds he has a test value of 4,000. Confused and wondering if I didn't wait long enough before starting a new cycle?

How long were you on it? It takes a few weeks to really start noticing the gains. I am on my 5th week of test now and it is really starting to kick in. That's why you should run test for at least 12 weeks. Week 6 is when the magic starts for me.

For the results of the 'Test' amount, was it Total Test, Free Test (unbound) / Free androgen index test?? you should also be getting a test done called SHBG Sex hormone-binding globulin which i'm guessing is low!
SHBG is the principal transport protein for testosterone...

For most people (myself included) have high Testosterone levels (unbound) and over time gains stop climbing, reason people cycle off or change it up.
Whatever works for you...
Me, Proviron (mesterolone) is what fixes things back up.... boom dose, then tapper down and run for what feels good for you. Most do 25mg/ED as baseline

My diet was good not too sure of his. He has done numerous cycles in the past. I have done like 3. It was that vet Test 400, the newer 20cc bottles (not sure if I can post name, begins with a D). Did research and found legit pics of the stuff even had same lot numbers. I gave up after like 7 weeks. He continued. It was like some times you felt like something was happening but more so not. He felt the same way. I was doing 1 pin 1cc on wed and 1cc on sat. I heard it was underdosed so i figure it was really lik 320mg per cc.On like my 6 week I was like f" it and did 1cc every other day (1200mg) to see if I would get a sign of gyno or something because I only gained like 2or 3 lbs in 6 weeks so I thought somethings wrong. So after no signs of progress I stopped at like week 7 or 8. Anyway he continued on and not sure how many mgs a week he was doing but he went to the Doc for unrelated incident and they did BW. Not sure if that 4,000 was total test or free test but I never heard of that high. I told him to find out his estrogen level because that had to be through the roof and that's probably why he didn't make any gains. Or the gear was bunk? SORRY for the long read.

if you were getting enough calories you would have gained weight.

I never had a problem before. My last cycle I went from 204 to 222. First time using that vet gear, I got new stuff and just waiting a couple more weeks till I try it. Been like 6 weeks since I did that stuff. Would that be long enough time? Cause I'm not sure that stuff was even good?

you ate more food than a 204 pound guy needs and that allowed you to get to 222 . heres where it gets tricky , a 222 pound guy needs more food than a 204 pound guy so to keep growing you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO ADD calories and protein.

I eat like every 2 hours. Everybody makes fun of me cause I eat so much. They don't even need a clock at work because they know what time it is by when I'm eating. And take like min 2 protein shakes (Up your mass) that have 650 calories on top of that. I know my body and how it reacts to compounds and I just didn't see that with this gear?

Hopefully this go around will be better. I only dropped to 217 from the 222. So kept most all my gains. My ultamate goal is 240 cut, not ripped, just cut. Thanks guys for the input.

did you change your training up that could have burned more calories than previously, so in essence you were burning up all the extra calories you were taking in?

i think u should start counting calories, alot of ppl think theyre eating enough and they are surprised how little it is when they actually count, just a suggestion

I used to keep a journal years ago so I am somewhat aware of the calorie count. Not saying that it wouldn't be a good idea to start again. I just think the gear was not to par? I have new stuff so I'll see what happens. Not sure if age has anything to do but I'll throw that in the mix... I'm 46
