Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and the wife

I thought I'd throw this out to those who might have been in a similar situation. I've talked with the wife about starting testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and she's worried not only about cost but also how this might affect me health wise. She wants me to go see our family pract doctor to get his take on this matter. While he's good for what he's trained to do, I doubt he has any knowledge on this subject and speculate I'd just be wasting time and money. I think this after reading all the other post on here of those that tried going through their doctor first.

I understand her concerns and would to be able to help her understand the difference between testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and just doing "roids". Any advice or direction on this is much appreciated from those of you who have been through this.

If you are seeking input to pacific the wife, I would deal with a physician who has some knowledge in this specific area.

Most GPs don't have much of a clue about this stuff.

Talk to a urologist first. At the very least, he/she will be knowledgeable in the context and will be able to comment intelligently on the matter.

I write this having had plenty of experience with physicians in general (both my Dad and little brother were/are pediatricians and both were/are exceptional Drs) and neither had/has a clue about much outside of their specialty.

First off, congrats to you on not being dishonest with your wife. That is the only way to ride this train. If you are interested in dealing with maximus Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), i will say that i have conducted a great many consults that involved both the patient and his wife. The "other half", needs to be educated on the fact that you are not looking for an excuse to "get juiced up", but rather that you are looking to attain hormonal balance within your own body by supplementing your body with medication that it needs in order to allow it to function at a level of vitality and health that it is meant to.
