Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) questions

Your numbers look good. The problem is trying to get a family doc or endo on board with this. youll most likely have to go to a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) doc to get to the upper third of the range.

If you cant find one locally i believe theres one here on the board.

I have a good friend thats a personal trainer in SA. Ill ask him if he knows anyone.

plus, gels aren't that effective for some. My first go around with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) was with Androgel and it actually lowered my testosterone level with the 5gram a day starting dose to 190 total test. At 10g a day which is max dose i was around 400 total test. I think my clothes had more test in them than I did.

If you have a significant other or kids you don't want gel. I used it in the morning and didn't touch my girl until after a shower that night and it still fucked her system up. Said to say but I had to bring my girl to the doctor with me to get things over to injections.

That is messed up about it affecting your gf. They market it as if it's okay to touch people after a couple of hours. I had very young kids at the time as well and i was paranoid about it regardless.

Hey man, I'm 25 and I'm in the same boat as you. I have legit low T. Mine came in at like 350. Got it tested again and it was 375 so that confirmed it was pretty low.

I've been getting injections now for 3 months.

My first few injections I didn't feel a whole lot different. But now each time I inject - the next morning I'm like... "Buzzing." It's hard to explain, I just really feel "naturally" energetic, awake, and I POP out of bed in the morning.

The only tough thing is battling my uncontrollable raging boners in the morning and trying to hide it as I walk into the office lol...

But yeah you're making the right choice as far as staying away from the gel. I went to a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) specialist and he gave me a shot right there on the spot and I've been on T ever since.

Let us know how it goes man. You'll probably have a bunch more questions. I've found this forum really helpful these past 3 months since I've been on T.

As far as your upcoming appointment, the best thing you can do is describe your symptoms and tell the doc how it's affecting your life and tell him flat out you want to try TRT.

Tell the doc that another doc. was going to put you on the gel, but you'd rather do injections because blah blah... This will lower his resistance knowing another doctor has already considered treating you for low T.

As you know, you just need to find the right doctor. I didn't get a prescription until I went to my 3rd doctor. The first 2 were Endo's which are pretty much worthless. When I finally talked to a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) specialist I got the prescription. So hopefully this guy listens to you.

Scheduled to go in on Monday. Any more suggestions?

There is a few that I have, and that is, try to figure out why your test is low, and there may be things you can do healthwise that may increase your testosterone naturally.

My questions are:
what is your weight and height?
are you on any medications?
any trauma or head injuries?
any food allergies?
what is your blood pressure like?

I wish I had the option for a cream. I have to inject every other day, and I get tired of it.

I am 22...I saw a few diff doctors. One had no problem but wanted to do gel, tried it---NOPE! Called around and found a diff doc, he gave me self injections. YES!

Just gotta shop around, I must have called 25 docs.

I have legitimately low T = Test was @ 236 at 22yrs old.

Current doc is still hesitant to check estradiol and everything. Ohwell, he gives me room to adjust on my own.

Is your doctor a urologist? I'm wondering if I should explore other specialties...
Family Doctor. I might be trying to switch up soon to someone who is more concerned with me, but in the meantime he gave me the test :blue:.

Why dont give Chip Wasowski a call?
