This study suggests Clomid instead of testosterone. What do you think?

I've been considering testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), but the idea of shutting down my HPTA isn't appealing. I read two good studies that indicated Clomid as an alternative to testosterone.

[Search pub med for: Outcomes of clomiphene citrate treatment in young hypogonadal men and for Clomiphene citrate and testosterone gel replacement therapy for male hypogonadism: efficacy and treatment cost.]

That brought up a bunch of questions, but I think the two most important are,

1: Are there anti-aging/hormone-therapy clinics that will prescribe Clomid to restore testosterone?
2: Is there another way to keep your boys running and healthy while on TRT?

Thanks for your input.

1. Yes. Endo's will too. Some Uro's and GP's too.

2. HCG

3. You didn't ask, but I am going to give you some input anyway. Most guys don't like being on Clomid for long periods of time. Even though it raises test levels it doesn't feel the same as taking Test Cyp for example. You don't seem to feel all the same benefits. Many guys who have used Clomid for long periods of time report that it "makes them feel like a girl." That's obviously not what we want when we are considering testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). I really think you would be much better off on Test Cyp injections. Clomid is great if you have secondary hypogonadism and want to give a "restart" of you HPTA a try. But I wouldn't recommend it for the long haul. You likely won't be happy on it for the rest of your life. If you have Low T, I am pretty certain you will love being on Test injections.

Are there any reasons that you are wanting to shy away from testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)? If you have hypogonadism, your HPTA already is effectively shut down. Do you have labs results (with normal ranges) that you can share with us?

Thanks for #3. That was more useful than what I was hoping to get from my first two questions

"makes them feel like a girl.

I'm just guessing here - is there much chance that could be caused by:
Clomid->more test->more aromatase->more estrogen->more girliness?

As a control, do people on Clomid and Arimidex say that?

Are there any reasons that you are wanting to shy away from testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)?
I sell sperm to lesbians. Don't want to lose the cash flow.

Kidding - but my situation has enough unusual elements and will be uncertain enough for long enough that it's better to consider it only abstractly. So, it's probably better just to say that I'm interested in the improvements that usually come with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), but I need to keep my sperm count up or elevated for the foreseeable future.

I'm wide open to suggestion. Your comments on Clomid were plan changing.
