40yo Male
Two blood tests three weeks apart:
1st Test - Total Test. 277 - No other values were taken
2nd Test
Total Test - 376
Free Test 20.5
Est - 20.5
DHEA 598
Height 5'9 1/2
Current Weight - 202lbs
Body Fat % 28
Was Prescribed 80mg twice a week of Test cyp. ***I have not started yet***
My Concerns -
Do my Test values warrant getting on TRT? Is 277 to 376 normal for a 40yo?
I recently have started working out and doing cardio. In the gym at least 3 times a week. Before this I was pretty sedentary and ate like shit. Eating habits have dramatically changed for the better as well as losing 20 pounds.
I was diagnosed with Severe Obstructive sleep apnea however I could never get use to the mask ( Tried Multiple masks) and abandoned the cpap. Now, that was when I was 20 pounds heavier. Not sure if I still have it or not. So I heard that TRT can cause it and make it worse if you do have it, so this is also a concern.
If I do go through with it and decide to go off for whatever reason, how bad is it? Will my test go back to what it was prior to trt? If trt helps with muscle and weight loss and I go off, will I gain weight and lose muscle, even if my diet is still good and im hitting the gym.
Lastly, would you do it if you were in my shoes?
Thanks in advance for the feedback.
