You can use the belt for any excercise that involves the back. Most of the time teh belt can be avoided if you form is super strict
Always never train with ego and you wont need a belt!
It always make me wonder why I see guys in the gym wearing a belt all the time for whatever exercise. Personally I only where a belt when using wieghts >100 kgs (squats deadlifts etc) because I want exercise my lower back.
