Simple answer to the original ?. Yes it's too much gear. At 165lbs you need to learn how to train and eat, period. All the gear in the world will not help you with that problem. If you are not gaining on 3000 or 4000 or 5000 etc... then you need to eat more, not use more juice. Plain and simple. So first get your diet down. What kind of training splits are you using? Frequency? Are you strictly sticking to BB type lifting or mixing in some PL techniques?
If you feel you can't train as well without gear, this is a purely psychological issue that you need to work out bro. Using gear as a motivational supplement is just plain wrong.
FYI - I trained for 2 years and put on about 40lbs of lean mass. It was at that point I did my first cycle, and with crazy strict eating and training I put on another 40lbs of lean mass. At 6' I now weigh 270 (up 4 this week
) and can see my top two rows of abs. Once I'm done bulking, I'll cut down about 25lbs, then bulk up a bit more. I still think I started too early. Could have easily put on some more mass naturally, but I was in a rush. So for you to say I peaked at 165 and needed juice....well....hope you get the picture bro.
Good luck.
