i just wanted to make this thread because i think someone may be able to benefit from this in the future cuz when you trained geared up shit can happen. this is also kind of a rant because i'm frustrated as hell.
some quick background
i was on a test/deca cycle in august and managed to really hurt myself, making a pre-existing lower back problem a lot worse. i should also probably mention that i was not aware i had a pre-existing back condition so it was kind of a freak thing. stupid docs told me i had nothing but a muscle strain for over 9 months and wouldn't give me an mri..... turns out i had a spondylolisthesis, fractured vertabrae and a bulging disc. and because i refused to take any meds for it for so long the pain became chronic. the doctors that i am with now explained to me that if you've had chronic pain for longer than a year it would be very hard to ever live pain free completely because your body remembers it. it was also a very poor decision on my part to start a cycle knowing something was wrong with me. the physical therapy i had fucked me up even more because they thought they were treating a muscle strain and had me doing stuff like back extensions which is murder for my back. they told me once i strengthened my abs and lower back more i'd be able to get everything under control....... hence i thought some deca with test wouldn't necessarily a bad idea. i know... stupid, stupid. i should've knew better. you live, you learn i guess
i had to stop lifting altogether for a while, over 6 months, i couldn't even do any push ups...... any type of force i exerted in any way shape or form absolutely killed my lower back.
first off let me ask, does anyone here have experience with doing a pct while on narcotic painkillers? in my experience, it really fuckin sucks !!!!!!!
but anyway, i hopped off the test/deca after being on it for close to 3 months or so and with all the narcotics made it very tough for me to recover... i started getting major gyno flare ups from that as well, luckily i was able to control them... somewhat at least. i still got gyno now but it's very very small, not big enough to get me upset about it.
at 5'7, i went from 194 lbs @ about <15% body fat to 172 @ like 17%+ bodyfat.
i was not able to get my test levels back up until i switched from harder painkillers like oxy, morphine, vic etc to tramadol. once i got on tramadol everything came back within a month or so. so remember, if you get into a situation like this and docs wanna give you vics or percs, ask your doctor for tramadol at least until your pct is done. now that i can somewhat lift again i'm still able to make decent progress with tramadol, got some of my strength back and cut down to 12% body fat, as opposed to the other painkillers which would've made it impossible for me to lift even a moderate amount of weight.
sorry for the rant and all i just had to get all of this out. i'm still mad as shit i ended up in this predicament. next step for me is gonna be getting of the pain pills, which really fuckin sucks too. does any body got any advice for me on that?
