Torem and heart rhythm problems

Has anyone had any heart rhythm problems while taking torem?
I read that it can even cause life-threathening events such as torsades des pointes.

I'm about to start easy on it like 15mg or 30mg a day and then see if im ok, theres not much more i can do i guess. it concerns me because the half life is 5 days and if problems arise it takes long to clear.

Torem the SERM? Torsades is just a fancy term for ventricular tachycardia, which is usually triggered by stimulants or certain extreme electrolyte imbalance (magnesium being the big one).

Do you have a reference for this information, as I've never heard of this?

I just read a study has been done where patients received 80mg of toremifene and the average prolongation of QTc interval was 21-26ms.
On 20mg dose the average QTc prolongation has been 10-12ms.

I also read that women are more prone to QTc prolongation than men.

and you are not allowed to eat grapefruit or grapefruit products while taking it(i assume it can cause mineral(electrolyte) imbalance)

This is due to the exert effects grapefruit juice possesses with the interaction with the course and pathways of some medications due to a greater metabolization, causing a higher serum drug concentrations and associated adverse effects, including liver toxicity with some medications..grapefruit juice can markedly augment oral drug bio-availability..

If you look on that spec chart you posted, you could guarantee a tripled mean plasma area under the curve (AUC) where it concerns serum level with toremifene with the existing consumption and metabolisation ratio, the cocktail mixture with some medications is no laughing matter! Shits legit..

yes, i mean the SERM toremifene

when i wikied torsades des pointes something like this comes up View attachment 563209

Then there's your answer - which you had all along. Interesting that a SERM could do that, I wonder by which action it causes such a qtc prolongation.

Actually, it decreases the metabolization of drugs, increasing effective half-lives. :p

Touche, you knew what I meant silly goose..after the first pass of the metabolizing enzymes :p

So, to give something back to the community, here are my observations.
Yesterday i have taken 5mg torem and today an hour ago i have taken 10mgs of pharma torem. I am still alive lol :). I know my doses are very low and the sides might come at the higher doses, but i have a history of heart arrythmia.(that was caused by psychological stress though, as i have a structurally normal heart).
I am recording my ECG pretty much every day. My QTc interval right now is 380ms, which is not prolongated at all. Off all drugs, my QTc was somewhere 390-400ms, but qtc interval can vary from day to day and hour to hour.

That would be enough to keep me away.
