Training with a broken foot?

I was just curious what everyone thought about this. This past weekend I was at a concert and ended up breaking my foot, I'll be in a cast for about 3 weeks and it's pretty much impossible for me to stand up on it.

But I was curious as to if it was still 'OK' to do lifts that don't require me to stand up? I really don't want to take a 3 week break from working out. I was thinking that I should be OK to still do some things, like bench press, incline dumbell press, incline flyes, preacher curls, etc... things along those lines.

Any suggestions?

As long as you do not put much stress on the broken area you will be fine. I worked out 4 weeks with a broken ankle. Watch doing heavy bench and other lifts that you may use your feet to push off or balance with. Good luck bro.

I'd think that any upper body work would be fine, as long as you don't put too much pressure on the foot.

BTW, what exactly did you break in that foot?

I froget exactly what bone the doctor said it was, but it's my right foot on the very right side. I guess there is a tendon there that runs from your ankle to this bone and if that tendon gets streched enough it'll just snap that bone.

At the concert I was at everyone was jumping around/dancing/moshing and my shoe became untied. I'm pretty sure that someone stepped on the lace and I rolled my ankle. I stayed for the rest of the show though (another hour or so).

I did my chest workout today and it felt pretty good, I was getting really upset becuase with my broken foot doing anything is pretty frustrating but it feels good to be lifting again.

Thanks a lot bros :)
