trt, does it work? here is my take

so , as many of you know i have started my TRT last week.. had a bit of an issue with sub q injections but that is in the process of being taken care of..

i was prescribed the following.. 250mg cyp once a week.. 1mg a-dex twice a week, and 250iu hcg twice a week...

here is what im actually doing

100mg twice weekly monday and thursday (going to switch to sun and thurs)

.25mg adex day after my injection twice weekly

250iu hcg wed and saturday

now i know alot of people talk about the placebo effect on the first week of testosterone... i have to disagree though..

just a little background.. i have had low T for most my life.. levels back from 10 years to 5 years to last year and twice this year were all in the low 200's.. LH and FSH levels were within range but at the very bottom...

i have ran numerous cycles in my lifetime.. and always felt best on cycle... never thought about trt though..

so im about a week into the trt now.. here is what im noticing..

1. more energy: i used to have a hard time getting up in the morning, now im a soldier. I also had a hard time doing my jiu jitsu and hitting the gym

2. recovery is much better: doing jiu jitsu 5 days a week and still hitting the gym, i was falling apart and getting injured fairly easily.. i had a bit of a neck injury in my T1 due to jiu jitsu.. it has completely vanished in the last week (though i am still very careful). i now have a bunch of energy and dont feel so fatigued doing both jiu jitsu and the gym

3. libido has already gone up, feeling it just a bit right now.. but i am feeling it.. and so is the wife :D

4. hcg makes you blow loads like a porn star

5. brain fog is completely gone.. my jiu jitsu has already shown alot of improvement due to it.. i can react faster and stronger than before.. before hrt my brain seemed disconnected with my body...

6. i have never had such great mood.. my wife is absolutely amazed by it.. yes, this might partially be due to the placebo effect.. but its safe to say i have more test running through my system now then i have in a long time (last cycle was 2011)
,

knowing that my test levels have not peaked yet and i still have another 4 weeks before i get to that level excites me.. i will be doing some experimentation with dosages to see what works best for me.. i would like to stay 700-900 ideally.. with my estrogen in check!

for those of you questioning hrt and showing symptoms of low t, why would you live in misery?? we have IMT here and Todd is very knowledgeable.. give the guy a call and get some bloodwork done..

i plan on updating this thread weekly to let you guys know how its going... i will be taking bloods mid January and will make sure to attach them

Best of luck to you! Why are you doing sub q instead of Im?

i have abandoned the sub q... i wanted to avoid scar tissue from IM injections.. and i read and heard that sub q releases slower and lowers aromatization... the ideal goal will be to run trt without an ai.. so i am working on that

3J have you tried methycobalamin? that can help with aroma, it is different than cynacobalamin. The added methyl groups assist your bodies natural inhibition.

Makes sense about the scar tissue aspect. Didnt know it lowers aromatization. Thanks

I completely agree 3J. My first week I immediately felt more energy (a significant change to the point that it felt like I had a couple red bulls but without jitters), more sex drive and a much improved mood. It made me realize what a zombie I had been for the last 1-2 years.

Sorry the sub-q route didn't work for you. I've been very happy with it so far but you have to do what works best for yourself.

Continued success and health brother!

You and everyone else just about feels it because it doesn't take that long to raise your T levels. I tested my T 4 days after the first shot of 200mg, and it was 1220!

Interesting, do you have a dosage suggestion for the methylcobalamin?

I felt like a zillion bucks the first couple week then kinda crashed then now I'm feeling pretty good. Nothing like the first couple weeks though.

I am with you 3J, within a week of my first injection when starting TRT I felt the difference. I have been supplementing with cynacobalamin B-12 for the past few months and can tell a difference than when I miss an injection. I spoke with my doctor this week and he is going to write me a script for methylcobalamin so that my insurance will cover the cost. I know that the methylcobalamin will be better than the cynacobalamin that I have been buying through Amazon.

so i am being told by a few fellow hrt guys that 200mg will put me over what is necessary for my needs..

i hope they are right! no need to put more in my body then is needed! ill have to wait a few weeks to do bloods and find out!
