trying to homebrew as a beginner?

Should I go for trying to homebrew as a begnner or should I just buy my own gear to start off with?

Also, does anyone know how many posts I need before I can start PM'ing people.

Buy the finished product for a few years. Get to you how your body reacts to the change. When you know the ins and outs of the gear world then start doing your research in the home brew world.
