veggie (soy) dogs

ive been eating alot of soy based veggie dogs recently, just wondering if soy protien is comparable to meat. 9 gm protien, 0 fat, 1 gm carb per dog. seems to be alot healthier, and soy is better for the heart, but how does it measure up to muscle building meat? does it break down into enough amino acids to repair or aid in muscle tissue regeneration? how bout soy milk (im lacotse intolerant - cant drink normal milk) ?

Regular soy is really a waste in my opinion. It's a very low quality protein primarily due to the fact that it's missing the essential amino acid methionine. Soy protein isolate powders have this amino acid added though. The pork hot dogs are almost all fat and plenty of sodium nitrates as well, so not much better of a choice. Not sure about the beef hot dogs. There are just many food choices better than hot dogs whether soy, pork or beef. Another issue of moderation.
