Water might have leaked into my vial

ok this is what happened I got a hot cup of water and put the vial in to heat up the oil before injection. I dont really know what happened but the vial managed to tip over in the cup and the actual rubber stopper was in the water. When I took it out I saw some of the oil outside in the rubber stopper. So right then I told myself that water might have gotten in and contaminated everything. This is where I need help, do you guys think water got in? and if so do you think a simple whatman filter and heating will take care of the problem?

how did the rubber come off? Isnt there a metal clasp holding it on the vial? And I would not worry about this, if you are though then heat it in the oven.

the rubber didnt come off... what happened was the water might have got inside the vial thru the little hole in the rubber.
I made my own batch of oils so I had heated this before, as a result the 23 guage pin made a small permanent hole. I had always covered the whole rubber just to make sure nothing got inside, but this time I had nothing to cover it with and when the vial tipped over the rubber was in contact with the water and so now im not quite sure what to do because a little bit of the oil got out of the vial showing that it had to have come from that little hole.
So if some oil got out from the hole, I was thinking that maybe some unsterile water got inside the vial...

If water got into it (even just a little), it will go murky if you shake it up. No big deal. Just re-filter it and don't worry about the cloudy-ness, it won't hurt you.

In the future, don't try and sterilize vials with a pin in the stopper (or with a stopper on at all). It's a stupid practice that just results in melted stoppers and pins.

Chance are no water got in because as you heated the vial up. The inside pressure also rose which is what pushed a little oil out.

Just think of leaving a bottle drink in a hot car when you grab it it is hard and tight. but if you were to put it in the fridge it starts to collapse the sides in a little. Hope this helps.

also whenever I drow from a vial Ill get a drop of oil when I pull out on the stopper, this might have happened to you and this is why you saw oil in the water

If you have a permanent hole in your stopper, then you should tranfer your solution to another vial.

Just refilter and have peace of mind. I would just shoot it.

I figured this could do with repeating:
