Water Retention from TRT (how to avoid)

one way step

New member
Anybody ever have to deal with water retention while on TRT? I'm on 200mg-250mg per week and usually get a little bit.

Any tips on how to reduce/avoid it?

If you've been on that dosage for awhile and you haven't been taking an AI or monitoring your e2--
That would be why your holding water

I just started 250mg test. I have noticed some water retention (face & chest). This has happened in the past but this is the first time I'm using AI with it as well. Will be going to the endo soon for BW.

I'm doing 250mg test once per week and 500iu hcg twice per week. You think .5 adex twice per week will do the trick, or will that send e2 crashing?

I think u just have to get dialed in over time. I would start at .25mg twice week and titrate up. Individuals respond differently to Adex.

On my bottle of arimidex it reads "take one dose the day after test injection and take one dose two days later".. It's .5 mg twice per week.
It's a capsule so I can't split the pill.

Personally I'm not very consistent on my AI dosing while on trt.. I am consistent with it when running a cycle though.. If your retaining water I'm guessing your aromatizing a bit more then you want to be

yeah I gotta split the pills too, I don't think they come in .5mg tablets.

The 250mg will usually cause some noticable retention, but 200mg will not. From a result standpoint, 250mg of test makes me feel like an energetic beast, while 200mg doesn't do much. Amazing that 50mg is such a huge difference.

It is amazing how seemingly tiny adjustments in dosage can give different subjective results. I have also seen objective results in as little as 20mg less per weekly dose in controlling hematocrit and hemoglobin spikes.

I took from this the importance of being systematic about dosing timing and accuracy so I get a more predictable result. So I just do all three doses at one time twice per week. Ideally Mon pm and Thurs am. If I miss a few hours I don't freak out, life happens. Of course, getting dialed in has helped me tremendously with "freaking out" anyways! Lol
