 What can you do when you don't have any sort of calves machine at the gym, and you can't change the gym ?

There are a lot of exercises you can do using free weight, do you have a smith machine there?
No, smith machine :(

This, and variations of this, seated, one leg, and use can use the smith for the same exercises too
I somehow don't seem to stimulate calves the same way with free weights, maybe because there is a limit how much I can lift with my hands(dumbell) and with barbell there seems to be balancing issues...

If you have a stair climber at your gym use that and put the balls of you feet on the edge of the step so every time you step, the calve are getting hit. That works pretty good actually.

Also, if there is a leg press machine, you could use that. Just put the balls of your feet on the bottom edge of the platform. This style of calf raises gets mine super pumped and tight every time. You could also do one at a time, standing up (on a stair or something similar). The seated calf raises (bent knees) only work the soleus any how. Vary it up...you can literally do calf raises almost anywhere. Squeeze the ever loving dog sh*t out of them! and smash the volume (at least 20-25 reps as they are made up mainly of slow twitch muscle fibers). Rinse and repeat lol.
