What do you think of am/pm splits?

Do any of you hit up the gym twice a day split wise, such as back in the morning and bi's in the evening. Ive done it a few times but never really stuck with it through a long process and after wrestling season is over i will have more time and was wondering what others thought and their experiences were.
 
The biggest negative is finding the time. Split routines border on the obsessive, and are really time consuming.

Exactly. And not only that but you risk the chance of just getting burned out.
 
I couldn't imagine having enough energy or concentration to do two intense workouts per day. It's completely unnecessary and counter-productive in my mind.

Personally I think it's the best training for those who have the time. I'm on a M, W and fri split. Mon is chest, shoulders and triceps. I hit chest in the morning, shoulders in the afternoon and tri in the evening. This way I can use more weight as the muscles for triceps aren't exhausted from working Chest or shoulders.
 
I do it occasionally for lagging body parts. Hit the gym in the morning, then when I get home after work in the evening, hit the basement and work on those lagging bodyparts. It's fun.

Myself as well! When I'm trying to cut I will hit cardio in the am and weights after work! Fuck, the price we pay to try and look good :rolleyes:
