What is considered "low carb" diet?

I am banned!
6'3 220-225lbs

I have my diet dialed into about 40/45/9 pro fat carbs 3000 cals or about 60g carbs. Is that low or should I reach for lower? I would say 9% carbs is pretty low.

Just trying to trim the body fat

60g of carbs is certainly low but you don't need to go so low to cut fat if you don't want to. Just reduce protein and/or dietary fats to make up the caloric dofference

Actually not bad really. But iv tried everything except low carbs

Here's my diet everyday

Meal 1
Almonds
Can of tuna
Chicken and veggies

Meal 2
Protien shake ( whey water peanut butter oatmeal)
12 eggs ( 8 whole 4 whites)

Meal 3
Almonds
Can of tuna
Ground turkey and veggies

I can get serving sizes if you want but works out to ~3000 cals 40/45/9. Pro fat carb

So if you guys think it's gunna make me lose the fat I'm sticking with it. I'm gunna try and make it to thanksgiving.

That depends on how many calories you burn per day or your TDEE. If your TDEE is 2800cals than you'll still gain weight

i think there should be a clear distinction between low carb and keto...

if your going low carb.. dont take your carbs under 100-150.. any less and your liver starts to produce glucose anyways... if your going to go that low might as well go keto.. and cut your carbs under 50g

So just by having my carbs under 50g puts me in keto?
And according to 3 different tdee calculators my intake is from 2900-3200 cals

I'd only need to cut out ozone or two things to
PUt my carbs under 50g but how much of a difference will 10g worth of carbs make?

Lemme run this till thanksgiving like I planed and if I don't see results il drop my carbs to 50g

Never ran carbs this low before

Question 2

I redid the math and I'm at about 3000cals 8.5% carbs or 63 carbs

Should I drop the carbs to 50 or below on my off days
And then bump it up to my usual 63 carbs on my training days? Still keeping it at 3000 cals?

Think il get better results like that? I'm just trying to cut the fat with maintaing my weight.

A difference of 13g of carbs isn't going to make an impactful difference. Cutting fat will involve you losing weight too, chances of you maintaining your weight while cutting fat aren't great.

You can pick up ketone strips at the pharmacy. That will tell you if you've gone into ketosis. It's honestly a difficult balance to maintain as if you're training, your body wants that energy that's readily available from carbohydrates - so you'll feel like crap and have no energy for awhile. However, I really dig the CKD plan 3J puts together as it's a nice balance of manageable carbs followed by low carb days which you can willpower your way through. Cashews ftw on those days!

Almonds for me. Lol
I honestly don't have a problem with carbs and working out. I can't really tell the difference the only thing that happens to me is I crave carb like crazy, day 3 of this diet and I want to sit down with a giant pizza with a stack of pancakes.

Yeah, it takes about a week for your body to adjust. Eventually even the smell of fast food makes you ill. Stick with it though!

I'm trying I'm trying. Only ha one slip so far. Buddy in class brought in ceviche yesterday I have to have a little with a chip or two.
