Finally have the time to actually go shop for groceries on my own and cook. But now that i actually DO have the time... i'm running low on variety/options on what kinda dishes i can/wanna make.

What did you start learning to cook for yourself? Hope you guys could share with me your experiences haha

p/s: would be nice if i could somehow steal secret recipes :chimney:

Write down a list of dishes that you like to eat when you go out to a restaurant. Look up recipes for those dishes and modify them however you need to in order for it to fit into your diet. That's the best way to do it.

Or just start combining things. Rice + a protein (beef, chicken, fish, whatever) with some seasoning (salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne, garlic/garlic powder, lots of options) is a meal. Throw in some roasted vegetables (grill or oven works great) and it's even healthier.

Olive oil or coconut oil is a great addition to these things as well. If you don't like the flavor of extra virgin olive oil, pick a lighter one. The health properties are the same (pretty sure), but there won't be as much olive flavor. Coconut oil is really, really tasty and has a higher smoke point so it's good for pan frying/roasting meat. You can find organic extra virgin coconut oil on Amazon for a good price.

Just experiment. If something doesn't turn out exactly the way you wanted, you can probably make it taste good enough to eat if you put enough cheese on it. :)
