For some odd reason this came to mind.
You have two guys competing for strength. Doing 1 rep max on Bench Press, Overhead Press, Deadlift, Squat. You take all the scores of each competitors lift and add them all together. Then divide by 4 (since 4 lifts) which you'd get the average. The average being the persons total strength number. I think this would be key to determine strength, in fairness. Cause if we just used one exercise, it'd be obsolete. For one, one of the competitors could just deadlift only and become a beast at it and shitty on everything else then he'd come mop the floor on competitor 2 who doesn't deadlift 24/7. You kinda see where im going with this? I hope it makes since.
