What would happen if test was raised from low to high

I am 22, 6ft and 154lbs. I recently had my free test levels tested and they came back very low (39 pg/ml). The minimum for someone my age should be 83 pg/ml going up to 250 pg/ml. I have a lower free test level than is expected in a 69 year old man!

I believe my levels have always been low. I didn't develop that well during puberty, I have narrow shoulders, a small jaw, I struggle to put on weight and despite several attempts at following a training & diet program I can never build muscle. I also display some of the personality traits associated with low T, such as anxiety, shyness and lack of willpower/motivation.

I do however have a deep voice, plenty of body & facial hair, good strength for my size, good sex drive and I am prone to acne. I have also noticed mild hair loss in the temple region, so my symptoms are confusing.

My question is, if I have genetically low T, or grew up with low T due to some un- diagnosed condition, what are some things I could I expect going on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and experiencing high levels of T all of a sudden? Would it be a big shock to my system?

It woud help to know a lot more than just your Free T level. Did you get a full blood panel?

Everyone reacts differently and feels differently at different levels and ratios of T and E. A more comeplete bloodpanel would help the guys hear offer some insight.

BY the way, when you attempted to gain weight and workout how much were you eating. How long did you stick with the training. Do you have low libido? I had a similar build and attributes but finally learned I was not eating near enough at that age considering the speed of my metabolism. Boy, if I knew then what I know now.

Additionally, your Free T may be suppressed by a high SHBG. You need to post more numbers. Sorry for double posting.

I managed to bulk up 28lbs on the scales when I was 17, which was all just fat. I then stopped working out and dieting and it didn't take long for me to be a lean 11 stone again.

Recently I tried bulking again, diet was good, mostly clean about 3500 kcal, 200g protein. I gained about a stone within 6 months. My lifts also went up so I did gain strength, but I had to stop because again it was all just fat and it looked ridiculous on my frame, my chin would just blend into my neck. There was honestly no noticeable muscle gain. I am now back to a baseline 11 stone again without doing any cardio or cutting.

It seems my body just wants to stay at 11 stone. I would be happy if I could gain just 10lbs of actual lean mass but I really do believe my body won't permit it without chemical intervention.

I am seeing my GP today and hopefully I can be referred to an endocrinologist to have a thorough check up and see whats really going on.
