whats the best amount of times to train?

just wondering what the best amount of training a week would be without over training. looking for optimum amount of sets in a session and how long i should be in the gym for, how many times i should training a week, maxium amount of exercise on a muscle group etc.
 
3-4 times a week (about EOD) for 30min-1hr,
working 1-2 parts a workout not more then 1-2 times a week.

thats what i found works best.

eg:
monday- chest,abs
tus- off
wed- biceps, delts,traps
thurs- off
fri- triceps,legs,lats

i do somthing like this

pffft! you know when you feel overtrained. try recovering faster if your body deserves it. from personal experience, i was over trained lifting 1-1.5hrs with 1hr cardio twice everyday. it would take some time on that regimen but varies from person to person. stretching long hours will help ease post exercise inflamation as a prudent recovery tactic. recovery helps you raise the bar.
