whats the difference between BCAA and protein?

the BCAA tabs are the amino acids in their base form (as individual amino acids). the BCAA content of any protein is tied up within the protein chain. in such a case, the BCAAs enter the body only after they are digested by enzymes in the stomach. for whey, the rate of release is quite high, takes place in a few minutes to about half an hour or so (depends on how much you took, enzyme concentration, etc).

for the casein, the amino acids are released over a long peroid of time (5+ hours, once again there are factors which influence this a little). the BCAA tabs however are ready for absorption instantly as soon as they hits the stomach and dissovle. since BCAAs are not used for energy by intestinal cells, they will make it to the muscle unlike other amino acids.

this, and the fact that a preponderance of muscle tissue is BCAAs is why they are good to take during training and between meals. it provides substrate that prevents the muscle tissue from going catabolic.

yes indeed,like Kaiser said,bcaa's is in its purest form,no mixed in protein that takes longer to absorb into your muscles,bcaa's works as soon as it dissolves in your stomach,i buy Optimum Nutritions BCAA 1000 capsules,i buy the bottle of 400 caps,and i take 2 caps between every meal and i drink Scivations Xtend during exercise,and take 2 more caps post workout,it really works well for me

i see but caps would still take a while to disolve tho cus there in caps..... compared to just powder form.? so wouldnt a whey protein be disolving at the same rate as a bcaa cap? ud prob be best off just taking bcaa powder if u wanted it to disolve asap wouldnt u..?

well the powder taste like ass lol,i hate it,and the capsules dissolve very fast,and no to your question of whey dissolving fast as the caps,because the whey has alot of additives,including whey isolates,milk by products etc,hence slow release,so when the caps dissolve,within 15 min they are dissolved and useful
 
i have been using ON BCAA powder mixed with 15gm pure glucose powder.
on back and leg day i use 10 gm BCAA, other days a little less.

I must say I have amazing results. I could feel it as I am not drained out even on the last sets.

thats true bro.. i felt it awful for the first 2-3 days, but that's ok now.
powder comes cheaper than caps so for guys who are on a budget sometimes, like me, it works.
 
Yeah man those BCAA pills can be horse pills but some aren't. I'm using Beast Ammino's and Protocol powder and love the taste. Plus Orbit has both for good prices.
