What's Your Ideal Post-Workout Shake?

A lot of people give contradicting views and I hear some people say they drink a protein before their workouts instead of after, or both, or just after.

I am trying to get opinions on what you guys think. I have always heard and read that simple sugars with protein are ideal after a workout and I believe that. As of right now I am taking a product called After Glow by biorythym which I am loving.

After Glow Ingredients:

Potassium 1370mg
Unrefined sugars 26g
Whey Isolate 20g
L-Glutamine 7.5g
L-Leucine AKG 1375mg
L-Valine AKG 625mg
L-Isoleucine 625mg
L-Taurine 1000mg
Kre-Alkalyn creatine 1000mg
Phosphatidylserine (cortisol blocker) 800mg
Pomegranate Powder 750mg
R-ALA 100mg
Grape Seed Extract 3mg
Cissus Quadrangularis 1000mg

This stuff has been pretty kick ass so far as I have been taking it about 7 weeks now along with a high protein high carb diet. June 1st I was 185lbs today I am 203lbs.

DO you believe a high protein shake before is as important as important or more important than a shake after? I usually just try to eat some tuna about an hour before I go to the gym.

What do you guys use and or recommend and please do not tell me anything muscletech because all their stuff sucks balls

Good call on the Afterglow. It works well but i'd still take a shake ontop of that. The higher protein content will help. Your body can usually absorb up to 60 grams post workout so throw that in there. The sugars are good also, post workout your muscle tissue will absorb them, rather than the adipose tissue. As for protein prior to workout, it's all about keeping the muscles fed. Try it for a week, i noticed a pretty significant difference on the fatigue rate.
