Whole milk, skim milk, and lactose

I've drank milk, and lots of it, for as long as I can remember. Recently I had been the ultimate shit factory, so I suspected lactose intolerance. I picked up some lactaid pills, and like magic, my issues were over.

That was with skim milk. Recently I decided to switch over to whole milk, because I want to pack on some weight. I have noticed that I haven't been needing to take the lactaid pills. Anyone care to shed some light on the reason for that?

I have the same problem with skim milk, my doctor told me it is because whole milk has a higher fat content that your body is able to assimilate the sugars in milk without the problem of lactose intolerance. I am back to bulking for the winter and I drink an entire gallon of whole milk everyday it does wonders for bulking.

If you want to pack on some serious weight, drink at least a gallon of whole milk every day.

I have the exact same issues with milk. Whole milk is fine but skim causes the WORST cramping!

I'm not certain what the mechanism at work behind it is though......

Maybe the fat in the whole milk slows gastric emptying, so the body has more time to digest the lactose?

true, fat slows the digestion of protein/carbs, which probably helps the stomach issues. I usually add a little cream to all of my protein drinks for that purpose.
