decided to go for a jog for the first time in about 22 years. i was well winded by half a mile, ran a little over a full mile, then walked for about 3/4's of another mile.
let me just say that running on the road is 100 times harder than running on the treadmill.
If you can get hold of a "Nordic Track" ski machine , you might like it , no pounding on your joints , but the cardio is real good . One can use both upper and lower body. I hate cardio , but the Nordic Track machine is good.
+1 on the sled dragging. After carrying some heavy stuff after moving and walking it a good distance and up 4 flights of stairs BACKWARDS, I realized that sled dragging is king and the only cardio I will be performing from now on (since it is close to what I did). I feel strong days after and weights alone with treadmill cardio cannot come close to what sled dragging can do in place of regular long boring cardio. I also did not feel sore and Ive ready that it accelerates recovery, hard to believe but true. It offers much more but treadmill and other conventional cardio methods offers no increased strength, just some calories burned with a bunch of boredom. Ill be starting soon 2 days a week to my PL routine.
