Working out on gear

People say on gear you need to do an intense workout correct? Now I was only in the gym for almost an hour is that ok?

4 sets of 12 flat bench press

4 sets of 12 of incline

2 sets of 10 of decline

6 sets of 14 of tris.

Should I have done more?

I personally dont know about needing to work out harder when cycling gear. I guess it depends on how hard you work out when you aren't on gear. Either way you are going to want to hit the weights hard. An hour is sufficient in my opinion. I dont think more than an hour is needed and some will say working out longer than that is overtraining. Also I know for a fact that 6 sets of 14 for tris is not sufficient. Was that one exercise or two? either way you need to do more exercises. I would switch that out for a dumbell fly exercise. I work out one muscle a day. Chest day 1 back and bi's day 2 (this is the only day i work multiple muscles) day 3 tris day 4 legs. you also will need a day of cardio if not two and a shoulder day. But this is my workout plan some may not agree. But either way just dont overtrain.

Ya 4 sets of 14 were on 1 and the other 2 were on a different machine, just didn't have alot of time today thats all. I ended up going back a few hours later and doing a little bi's and a little shoulders.

14 for reps is quite high; what are your goals?

One thing I've learned over the years is heavy weight and low reps is best; 5x5 is an excellent workout. Not saying it isn't the only type of workout or other methods are not valid; just curious. Another thing I've learned is that there different ways to workout especially if you are looking for size or if you are looking for strength or looking for explosiveness.

As for you first comment; working out on gear or off gear should be done with intensity. If you are not then what are you doing as your gains will not be there. And when working out you should always work out smart. You should ensure good form and good technique. And with that comes working out correctly and not wasting time with poor workout plans or lolly gagging or spend too much time looking around at everybody else; get in and get out.

rps from 6-10 at6 most that mean THE MOST you can do with the lbm on there not perposly only doing 8 when you could go 16.
make it so that you CANOT do more then 10reps.
also 30min-1hr is more then enuff.
i dont go over 1hr ever. your bulking not cutting. cutting would be diffrint with more reps and cardio easly 1.5-2hrs.

I love the world bulk. You see all of those chubby guys saying they are "bulking" up and then they are going to "cut" ... idiots. Sticking on fat is not bulking, it means you are a pig.

If you mean putting on solid muscle well that will depend on how you lift. If you want to lift like a body builder then you will lift a certain way. You will produce more muscle tears by going to failure on your lifts. You'll want to lift heavy and you will not want to over do the reps. If you are looking for strength then you will be lifting a different way. You'll be lifting heavy with low reps however you won't lift till failure and probably not as slow either.

I get the feeling this guy has no idea to put on muscle without gear. This cycle will probably just be a big failure.

to me 45 min of breaking of sweat workouts is good....to the point i have the shakes...and im happy...
