workout routine

A buddy of mine gave me this 5X5 routine and I am planning on trying it out. If anyone has any suggestions or thinks I should throw it out, it would be appreciated. This obviously isnt counting warmups

Monday
Squat 4x5
Bench 5x5
Bent Rows 5x5

Wednesday
Military press 5X5
Barbell curls 5x5
Calf Raises 2x10-15
reverse shins 2x10-15

Friday
Light Squats 5x5
Close Bench 5x5
Deadlifts 5x5
 
how big is you buddy? what kinda numbers he puttin up? how long has he been doing this program? how much improvement has he made in the last year? if you like all his answers give it a try for 8 weeks and see what happens. some respond well to this kinda program while others dont. only one way to find out if you one of those who prosper on it. good luck. if it dont work then less volume will.
