would you swallow raw eggs?

I swallow raw eggs all the time, but they are mixed with milk and chocolate in a blender.

Now I am trying the CKD diet, which obviously doesnt allow for any carbs, or at least not many. So I wont be able to mix eggs in a blender with all that sugar from milk and nestle quick.

So how many of you swallow raw eggs whole like the bodybuilders from the 50s and 60s?

No it's not worth the possible diarreah and sickness, plus its a gag reflex kind of thing, there are certain things I cannot stomach. I like cooked eggs but I am cautious about raw eggs, a friend of mine got sick once from raw eggs and he was sick for 3 days he lost over 10lbs not worth it.

Eeww I would never even think about it! :nonono2: Why not spend 5 extra minutes and cook them or better yet hard boil a bunch of them and stick them in the fridge when you're done and you can take them anywhere you want and you have an instant protein snack.

I have before.

Not a regular thing, just every once in a while.

Supposedly they are pretty hard to digest raw though, like you don't get all the protein. At least that's my offering of hearsay. Never actually bothered to look into it cause it's not very relevant.

Insane_Man, you can buy "Egg Beaters", they are pasturized eggs. They have just as much protein and you can eat/drink it raw, I do the same thing as you with the eggs/milk but the beaters are much safer.

Yeah but that's not old school. Rocky never opened no carton ;)

I would never eat raw eggs due to getting sick and the fact that they don't taste good like that. I love food and want to enjoy what I am eating.

just nuke the raw egg whites in the microwave for a minute or two (not enough to cook them) that should kill most of the bacteria.

I don't. you won't either as soon as you figure out why you have to refer to people doing it over 30 years ago and not the bodybuilers of today, or maybe cause it just isn't cool anymore.

i drink 10-15 eggs every morning raw. mixed with water a a scoop of choc. protein. i cannot sit down and eat the breakfast that i should because it takes 45 min. to eat that much cooked food!!
10-15 eggs
8 oz ground beef
1.5 cup of oatmeal (dry measured)

I've put the pasteurized egg whites in a shake with my whey protein but I couldn't drink it out of the carton. I'd most definitely puke.:(

I would not suggest the "hardcore" rocky egg drinking method just due to the fact that a larger percent than you would think of eggs contain a high amount of either salmonella or E. Coli. People do it apparently, but you never know when you are going to get a bad batch of eggs that have been tainted with bacteria. Salmonella poisoning is a pretty serious thing causing typhoid and paratyphoid fever in humans. You can be hardcore all you want but in the long run puking for a week straight and losing more weight than you have gained all season isn't worth it in my opinion. Think about it ;)

One in 20,000-30,000 eggs, yeah thats a whole bunch.

It is said that raw egg whites contain enzyme inhibitors which can interfere with protein digestion ultimately lessening the amount available for assimilation. I don't know to what extent though.

Because of time constraints, I was using a lot more protein powder in the mornings until I figured out some good ways to nuke a large amount of eggs in the microwave in only a couple minutes.

the problem with anything pasteurized is that the goodies are lost in the process due to the heat.
