Yes, I did it when I was being trained for playing football. It is a used for overall strength training for alot of athletic sports. You will see it done in mostly University gyms, not bodybuilding gyms.

Very true. In College we used to do them once every two wks but several sets and you can feel it in what seems like every muscle!
