1 year on TRT and Test still low?

TRT101

Hi guys,

This is my first post here

I started TRT last year in Las Vegas I got tested due to limited results in the gym, fatigue and motivational issues (no libido issues)

My test came back 179.... So very low (I'm 33)

The highest it reached was around 700 but my most recent blood work today it was 450 and also with low estrogen (sorry didn't note the level).

I get weekly injections, over the year I've gone from 100mg to 150 then 190mg for the last 6weeks (today was my first 200 and they're asking if I want to switch to once every 5 days).

Is this a big concern? Do you guys think I should switch to the every 5 days?

I feel much better than I used to but wondering if trying to reach 800+ would be worth it

Read the above link on basic TRT overview.

Most of us do injections every 3.5 days. This works much better than weekly injections. What are your estradiol levels? Not having it in check will cause you problems and not feeling great. (Estradiol too high or too low is not good). Are you taking an AI? If it's Low like you state, you are probably taking too much of your AI.

Most guys don't feel "great" until they reach the 800 TT level.

I'll ask for the specific levels next time.

tbh I'm feeling much better than I used to but it certainly sounds worth giving the extra shots a try.

Thanks for the info

As mentioned your injections ideally would be twice a week, and ideally you'd be administering yourself, so you don't have to go into an office each time. FOr instance I inject on MOnday morning and Thursday evening. At 140mg a week (70mg 2x a week) my Test levels are at 1010-1020 at trough. I'm managing estradiol with only Calcium d-Glucarate. Works great. I don't need much estrogen control since I stopped taking DHEA which was spiking it through the roof.

Are you taking HCG the day before each Test injection? 250 iu 2x a week a is recommended, unless you're over 45 then it's 500iu 2x a week (or so my TRT doc says).

Also Micronized Pregnenolone is good to use with TRT, I use 50mg every day.

Two times a week really limits the peaks and troughs of your testosterone levels. It's much better than being a sliding scale over 7 days every week.

Are you overweight by any chance? Testosterone effects everyone differently, but at the same dose of Test someone who is 250 may have lower levels than me at 172lbs.

Hi

I go to ageless mens health once a week they give me one shot of test, one HCG and sometimes B12. They've said it's the same price to go twice so I'll likely do that.

They've told me my estrogen levels are also low and haven't had any issues with it over the year (I'll get an exact level next time).

I'm 200-205lbs and 5,10" stocky rather than just fat so over weight but not massively.

You need to look at estradiol -- not estrogen.

Why not self-inject. Much easier and more convenient. What do you do when you take a trip?

I was introduced to it by them and haven't really had a reason to self inject. I also quite like the level of hygiene there and blood tests whenever I request. Ok I'll have a look at the blood work next time I'm there regarding estradiol.

I rarely leave town for more than a weekend, I went on one 2 week trip and just took a little more on day I left. Tbh felt fine when I came back but levels were back down to 170s

I know everyone is different, but based on research papers and what users show are their treatment and blood results on different forums. It is very rare to only reach 450 ng/dl after doing 190mg for 6 weeks.

Are you absolutely sure that you are getting 190mg a doses? Is it from an official brand?

My routine was 100mg every 5 days and after 6 weeks I had 1100 ng/dl and lowered my dosage to 110mg every 6 days for connivance and because I want to stay in the 900-1200 range. I don***8217;t take HCG or AI and my Estradiol level was 29 pg/ml which right in the middle.

What kind of testosteron is it? P,C or E

Injecting 150mg of testosteron in one shot is most likely going to raise your TT = 800/900 see, now it slowly starts to tick away 700-600-500-400-300 and then you reinject wich shoots your levels abit higher then last time... What this creates is a rolercoaster for your hormones/body wich can result in some moodchanges and whackyness! As the guys mention trying to keep your testosteron level at a 900-700 is going to make you feel better, aswell as letting your body settle alittle with wtf going on!

Remember that food and a healthy lifestyle still has a major contribution to how your hormones work, and how you feel! eventually eating healthier and staying leanish, could decrease SHBG and thereby let you feel more of the testosteron.

Have alle of your blood done, wich means Lipids, hormones, thyroid and so on! our body functions as one, and as you might have seen some guys drag 2000mg into them selves, but gain far less then a guy doing 250mg or alittle more then that! Food, diet and training keep it in balance... Alot of the guys that start TRT start because their hypogonadism is created by a bad life-style "stress, diet and poor health choices" keeping that lifestyle but implementing testosteron is not going to do much if all of your hormones are alittle off.

Wish you the best!

Hi guys

My E2 on the blood work was 10 which I was told is low.

I've now switched to 200 every 5 days I'll be on that for 4 weeks and then have another blood test.

Thanks for the info!

you could see if that happens, something is up though, your E is way too low.

Current literature is starting to show lowT symptoms are caused just as much by low E2, so thats probably why your not feeling great.

I would look into supplementing transdermal DHEA.

Just a thought... Check your cholesterol levels, if cholesterol is alittle high it could be your body missing out on fats! Cholesterol is needed to create hormones and no cholesterol is not all that bad for us... Often doctors will try to give you meds against it, when in reallity its actually trying to improve your health.

You see. My LH and FSH are high, this means that i am primary hypogondal! My testicle is not responding to the hormones my brain is sending out leading to a low testosteron (200tt at the age of 24) it therefore tries to do in other ways. Increasing cholesterol to convert into testosteron... Cholesterol -> Testosteron "and cholesterol comes from fats, thats why its often recommend to actually eat healthy fats in moderate dosages to improve your hormones"

I will always incorage people to do it naturally. If there are no other sign/reasons for LOW T then it might actually be you that is the problem. The question is, can you change and are you willing to fight for the change? In my case I was wreckt by surgeries and chemo..

- Increase your fats and see i it dosent make a lil change.

Well the only problem with increasing his Cholesterol in his situation is he is injecting T. So his body is not making testosterone or estrogen at the moment.

So unfortunately that will not help elevate his E2. Estradiol is made directly from testosterone.

I guess its possible that the fats would help create more aromatase enzymes, but I'm not sure.

Really interesting!

My Cholesterol and Triglycerides have always been high (very high) in the past so that could be what is happening.
I managed to control them earlier in the year with fish oils but that was when I was already on TRT.

Interesting, but not applicable as IMT pointed out. You get your Test from a bottle.

Mine was 129. I used peps for LH. That seemed to supplement it a bit. I gained a lot of weight fat, before I went on mine. Years ago.
